Marketing, especially Internet Marketing, is focused on the process of getting your customer's attention. In the early days of the internet, web developers learned how to design nice looking web sites… but no one came. So they spent hours trying to manipulate the search engines and their users by developing processes known as “SEO”, “SEM” and “CPC”. Once the visitors did start to come, the developers learned that they also turned around and left in large percentages with every click of the mouse. In a constant juggling act, web developers crafted content to bring the visitor to the web site and then move them to the right pages as quickly as possible before they exited on to the next web site or search. Tools like Google Analytics help you monitor each visitor so you can perfect your process to get the most in and out of the funnel of your web site traffic. If you don’t have the time or the interest to learn this process, there are 1000’s of companies that claim they can do it for you. Unfortunately, common Internet Marketing practices almost always fall short of the intended goal. Internet Marketing may get a customer to your web site but what is motivating them to click that all important “Buy Now” button? SEO? SEM? CPC? No way. Your customer - that you have worked so hard for - just flat lined! What you need now is CPR! While essential, all the marketing in the world is a total waste if you do not have a clear and concise call to action, a sense of urgency, and a closing tool. Usually this is the function of a sales person. Marketing gets the customer in the door and the sales person closes the deal. But today, depending on your industry, as much as 80% of the shopping is being conducted online. If your showroom is a web page, you need to invest in a closing tool to motivate the customer to make a favorable purchasing decision just as you would in a physical showroom. Otherwise, when your marketing process ends, your sales process is going to die right along with it. Can you imagine walking into a car dealership with no salespeople? Just shiny new cars with the price on the window and a form to fill out? Me either. Your web site is your salesperson and, like any salesperson, it needs tools to finish the sales process and close the sale. Web sites use response forms to collect information to complete the sale either online or with a follow up call from a sales specialist. You need an incentive to motivate your visitor to complete and submit the response form. We now have a tool that can deliver our sales incentives right on your web site. I call it Internet Marketing CPR, or Cost-Per-Response. A Sales Incentive such as our Travel Certificates, Merchandise Vouchers or Rebate Forms offered to a visitor that completes a response form is a very effective way to insure that you maximize your sales from your internet marketing efforts. I guarantee, if you try it, you’ll see that the ROI proves it is well worth the cost. What? Another 3 letter acronym! That’s marketing for yaa!
